August 2019 Colorado Hail Storm (Blog Update #15)

Colorado is known for its intense and strong hail storms across the easter parts on the state. On August 13th, 2019, A major hailstorm hit Colorado’s eastern plains and dropped extremely large hail across the region. The storm dropped a hailstone with a 4.83 inch diameter in the town of Bethune.

Hail is most common in the month of June in Colorado. Hail is responsible for thousands of damage to crops, homes, businesses and vehicles. Hail can fall to such extremes that it can even cover the roads making it look like it snowed when it is really hail.
